BIO

Bailey Madill was born and raised in Kamloops, BC, where she trained at The Dance Gallery with Maureen Duggan and Marylou Joseph. After a summer at Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, she moved to Vancouver to study at Goh Ballet Academy. Bailey then completed a year with Coastal City Ballet, and two years in The Richmond Academy of Dance’s professional division. She had the privilege of working with many revered teachers and choreographers in Vancouver, including Vera and Nikolay Solovyeva, Choo Chiat and Lin Yee Goh, Anna-Marie Holmes, Heather Laura Grey, Heather Dotto, Joshua Beamish, Curtis Foley, Susan Toumine, and Annette Jakubowski.

In 2014/2015, Bailey worked with Ballet Kelowna, under the direction of Simone Orlando. She spent the year understudying and collaborating on the choreographic process with Simone Orlando, Shawn Hounsell, Heather Myers, and James Kudelka. In
2015/16, she had an apprenticeship with Ballet Edmonton, where she performed in many classical and neo-classical works choreographed by the director at the time, Jorden Morris.

Bailey is currently based in Vancouver, freelancing, auditioning for ballet companies in Europe and throughout Canada, and exploring lessons in singing. Recently, she has danced in a BOSE headphones commercial, was a dancer in Vancouver Opera’s Turandot, was a guest artist with Richmond Academy of Dance as the Sugar Plum Fairy in their Nutcracker. She spent the winter of 2018 in Montreal, performing leading and soloist roles in the Nutcracker and touring throughout Quebec with Ballet Ouest de Montreal. Upcoming in September 2019, Bailey is dancing with Joshua Beamish’s MOVE: The Company, in a contemporary reimagining of the classical ballet Giselle, titled ‘@giselle”.
