BIO
Karisse Gomez
Dancer - Actor
Karisse’s long time passion for dance led him to train and teach at the Kids Etc Youth Movement Company in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where he was the principal hip hop teacher for youth aged 7-18 from 2010-2013. Towards the end of this term, he landed a roll in the feature film Bravetown, directed by Daniel Duran and choreographed by Brian Friedman. The experience of being surrounded by like-minded, talented and driven individuals, inspired him to pursue dance professionally and spurred his move to his current home town of Vancouver, BC.
Here he continues his dance training with the TwoFourSeven dance company, a well known and sought-after professional hip hop group, under the direction of Jerome Esplana and Carlo Atienza. In 2013, Karisse was honored to accompany TwoFourSeven as they represented Canada at the International World of Hip Hop competition. Karisse’s combined love of dance and passion for inspiring youth led him to Koba Entertainment where he has been touring across North America, performing children’s theatre since 2014.
His tours include Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite (2014/2016), Nickelodeon’s Dora the Explorer Live! The Search of the City of Lost Toys (2015) and Bubble Guppies Live! (2016/2017), plus the North American Tour of Shopkins Live! Shop It Up! Karisse’s positive attitude, expertise of body movement, masterful use of puppets and mascot work make him an exceptional asset to the Koba Entertainment team!
