BIO
Ross Wirtanen is a dancer whose years of training in urban dance styles has made him one of the top upcoming artistic directors/choreographers in the Canadian entertainment scene. He has won countless awards for his choreography and performances in numerous festivals and competitions throughout Canada and the U.S.A. Dancing professionally since the age of 18, Ross has been fortunate enough to travel all over North America and train intensively in L.A., New York, London, Toronto, Vancouver and San Diego, under some of the world’s most renowned street-dance teachers and choreographers.
Presently residing in Toronto, ON, Ross is the director of RiaToss Productions, his own theatrical, performance-art company. Known for their fashion–forward and edgy multidisciplinary pieces, RiaToss has performed works at notable Toronto venues/events such as The Carlu, Casaloma, The Spoke Club, World Pride and FAT – Fashion Art Toronto. He is currently a key artistic director for the FLAUNT Festival, a wearable-art and fashion extravaganza taking place once a year at Harbourfront Centre. He is on faculty at various dance conventions/intensives and choreographs for studios throughout the country, all while continuing to work commercially as a dancer, choreographer and stylist.
